Frederick Heinzelman, Cornell class of '54 (mechanical engineering), has passed away after a brief but serious illness at the age of 84. Upon graduating from Cornell, he moved to San Diego to accept an engineering job at Convair/General Dynamics, where he worked at the High Speed Wind Tunnel for many years, until it was sold to Israel in the late 1970's. He then served out the remainder of his career at the Low Speed Wind Tunnel in San Diego, and retired from General Dynamics in 1993. I believe that for a period of time he was active in the Cornell Club of San Diego and attended several events.
Any Cornell Club friends of Fred are welcome to attend the services for Fred, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 18. For more information, please contact daughter Adrienne at firstname.lastname@example.org.
