Cancer Comfort Volunteer Event at AleSmith

  • Alesmith 9990 AleSmith Court San Diego, CA, 92126 United States (map)

Come help us make blankets for cancer patients!

Please join the Harvard Club of San Diego for a community service event on Monday, February 26th at AleSmith in Miramar.  We'll have the mezzanine level set aside for us.  As part of comfort packages sent to cancer patients by YANA Cancer Comfort, we'll make tied fleece blankets that are easily put together- tying double knots around the 2-layer sides of the blanket that are pre-cut.  Once you complete one, you can move on to another.  At the end of the evening, volunteers will be able to see how much was accomplished by the stacks of blankets set aside.  Cancer patients will be given the blankets at no cost to use during chemotherapy treatments where room temperatures are typically on the cooler side and at home as a source of comfort.  We look forward to seeing you.

Age Limit: Children are able to volunteer with parental supervision. Great for teens, especially if they bring a friend(s)

Open to Family and Friends
