Join us on Saturday, November 8, as we hike the Elfin Forest Loop. The hike starts at the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve, just outside of Escondido.
Bring a picnic lunch – we’ll reenergize and gather together at the midway point.
Additional details:
Distance: 3-4 miles round trip, depending on route.
Difficulty: Medium. Wear good hiking shoes, and a hat.
Best for: A solid workout with scenic views. The trail features a steep, initial climb before leveling out at the top, and offers a good mix of shade and open areas.
Parking: A main lot and an overflow lot are available, but they fill up quickly on weekends.
Safety: Always bring extra water. The trail can be hot and exposed, be wary of rattlesnakes like any dry hike.
Amenities: Restrooms and drinking water are located at the trailhead staging area, and at the top picnic area.
Inclement weather cancels event: The park may close during rainy periods, red flag warnings, or extreme temperatures.
